Deacon Paul Lissandrello

Deacon Paul Lissandrello has been serving Saint Matthew Parish as Pastoral Associate since July of 2003. He is also the Parish Catechetical Leader, supervising our Parish Faith Formation program, Grades K-12.

Deacon Paul worked in both public and Catholic education, first as a high school teacher and later as a high school and elementary school principal.

He was ordained a permanent deacon by the late Bishop John A. Marshall of Diocese Burlington, Vermont, on September 21, 1986, the Feast of Saint Matthew, and served as a deacon in the Diocese of Burlington until assuming his role in our parish.

Deacon Paul is married to Patricia Lissandrello, who is a retired school librarian and is currently active in teaching rug hooking. Among other things, Pat coordinates the parish’s bereavement ministry. They have two grown children. Daughter, Noel Dodge, lives with her husband, Mark, and grandsons, Jack and Alex, in Palm Desert, California. Son, Paul Christian (Chip), lives near Seattle, Washington, with his wife Stacy.

He has conducted retreats and workshops on prayer and spirituality for various groups in the Diocese of Portland and has been active in several diocesan boards and committees.
